Keto Pudding – Let It Be Thy Medicine
Keto Pudding prepared with fresh goat milk and beef gelatine would be prescribed to you if Hippocrates was still alive! He would be the superstar of doctors that want to heal the world with food! Yes, with food, not with predominantly prescribing medicine and invasive procedures. Luckily, in today’s era of internet and social media, we can still find Hippocrates spirit still alive and kicking! As long as there are medical experts and physicians that fight for the healthier humanity, and as long as we the Ketonians refuse to get silenced, there’s still hope for humanity! We will be able to reach the Star Trek future. Why am I mentioning Star Trek so often? Maybe because I am an idealist, or is it because this world needs a cure in all segments of existence.
The Hippocrates of today
I am just amazed by the work and brave approach to public speech and media appearance of Dr Aseem Malhotra! Now, I am not a doctor, I am a Greek nutritionist who practices nutritional therapy and after years of Keto Mediterranean lifestyle – both my wife and I never get sick. However, if I needed a doctor, I would definitely want them to be like dr Malhotra! For all of you who love Star Trek as much as Roberta and I do, believe us, Dr Aseem Malhotra is Dr Julian Bashir of our days! (If you are not familiar with this brave and inspiring fictional character, you can learn a lot from this article.)
This most candid cardiologist and also a leading specialist in the prevention, diagnosis and therapy of heart disease, is triumphantly directing the battle against excess sugar consumption. He is an award-winning NHS cardiologist who has famously moved leading academics, the media and even politicians to make sugar reduction a health priority in the UK. However, not only in the UK, Dr Malhotra’s voice can be heard globally! Especially if you follow him on Twitter, as I do! I was really glad to read that dr Malhotra is a fan of the Low-Carb Mediterranean diet, which is a sister approach to KMD!
Why should you try food healing?
The healthy lifestyle change has helped so many people around the globe. They are writing their testimonials and starting blogs about it. All this is happening because there’s this urge to share! Humans love sharing their experiences, especially when it comes to healing! By applying the Keto Mediterranean approach, you’ll benefit and most probably get awesome results in healing various conditions. Especially those related to bad eating habits that we’ve been repeating for years!
This also includes sourcing natural, organic ingredients and preparing food at home. Furthermore, spending time in nature, getting as much sunshine as possible, and as ancient Greek physicians would recommend – have some comedy in your life! Whether it’s a theatrical show (as the ancient’s would recommend in Epidavros) or just having a good laugh and making fun of problems while solving them at the same time! Trust me, it’s doable!
Keto Pudding – the healthiest dessert you’ll ever prepare
For this specific recipe, I included two mighty ingredients that almost have superpowers known to the ancient Greek Gods. I simply cannot say enough good things about goat milk! However, I am talking about organic, fresh goat milk, from a local farm! Before I introduce you to healthiest pudding you’ll ever prepare, here’s an excerpt from my article on the superiority of Goat milk products:
Goats prefer to eat healthily
Since goats are eating tree bark, their milk is rich in silica and minerals, which has a beneficial effect on the quality of skin, hair, nails and nervous system. Goat milk is abundant in oligosaccharides that act against the inflammation and at the same time regulate the defective function of the intestines.
Due to the lack of lactose or milk sugar, which cow’s milk contains in far larger quantities, goat milk is Keto-friendly. In adults, goat milk can help prevent high blood pressure and atherosclerosis. In fact, potassium is an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function.
Buttermilk, goat cheese and yoghurt
Here in Greece, it’s quite easy to find all sorts of goat dairy products. I will devote a whole article to goat butter which I consider as a divine product that every Ketonian has to have in their fridge. I believe you can order it online. Many countries are increasing the production of goat milk these days. Search for the local farms – this would be the best solution.
The healing properties
Goat milk products are also powerful natural remedies. They enhance the growth and development of the digestive tract. I would like to point out that they are recommended for the prevention and therapy of liver disease. They can aid fatty liver, cirrhosis, and mononucleosis. These extremely tasty products are great for osteoporosis, blood pressure, inflammatory processes, kidney function…
Let’s talk about beef gelatine
Beef gelatin maintains the health of the bones, joints and skin! Of course, you should always opt for grass-fed and organic beef gelatine! The beneficial gelatin is derived from animal bones and skin, and the best quality gelatin is made from grass-fed animals. Today, gelatine from a natural source can be purchased at many health food stores and food supplements, and it is advisable to avoid buying overprocessed gelatin with additives, artificial aromas and colouring.
Repetitio mater studiorum est – Beef gelatin benefits:
- Improves the elasticity of the skin
- Slows down the ageing of the skin
- Supports the health of bones and joints
- Balances the ratio of amino acids in the body
- Improves digestion and stomach health
- Reduces pain in the joints and bones
- Improves the appearance and quality of hair, nails and skin
- Helps maintain strong bones
Healthiest Keto Pudding
- 100 ml (1/2 cup) organic goat milk full-fat
- 50 g (1/4 cup) goat butter organic
- 200 ml (1/2 cup) filtered water
- 1 tbsp raw cacao powder organic
- 2 tbsp stevia blend sweetener
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 2 tbsp powdered beef gelatine grass-fed
- 1 tsp powdered beef gelatine grass-fed
- 8 whole raspberries fresh or frozen
- 100 ml (1/2 cup) filtered water
- Mix 2 tbsp of gelatine with 50 ml of water.
- Place goat milk, butter, stevia, salt, raw cacao and 200 ml of water in a deep saucepan. Heat it but don't let it boil. You can use a confectionery thermometer and remove it from heat when it reaches 80ºC (176ºF)
- Add the gelatin and stir well. Pour the pudding into a pudding mould or a container of your choice and place it in the freezer.
- Ina food processor, mix 1 tbsp gelatine with water and raspberries. Place this mixture in a saucepan and heat it just for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour this mixture on the chocolate pudding and place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- You can decorate the pudding with berries of your choice.
NotesYou can create 4 portions by pouring the pudding into 4 smaller glasses, or cut 4 portions out of a single pudding prepared in a pudding mould. If you decide to make the pudding in a pudding mould (like in my photo) after cooling, leave it for 10 minutes at room temperature, cover with a plate and flip. The pudding will slide out of the mould easily.
My joy in finding this pudding recipe is incomprehensible! As someone who loves pudding this has been by far my FAVORITE recipe! You rock for this!
