Swirly Keto Pie – A simple artisan project
Swirly Keto Pie pie was just one of those experiments when you want to make things simpler. in Keto baking, recipes sometimes call for ingredients that want to emulate the gluten and starch effect, but in most cases, these ingredients are not quite healthy. even if they are healthy, such as psyllium, they are just not so great if you want a nice and light texture.
Making it simple – making it delicious
I tried on numerous occasion excluding Keto-friendly flours and replacing them with ground nuts and seeds. It worked for bread, muffins, and pies. But in this particular recipe, I excluded the mighty psyllium because I wanted to experiment with the texture. To my surprise, the pie ended up tasting ten times better and the texture is just perfect. But of course, I wanted to give it some artistic effects so the swirly Keto pie was born.

Swirly Keto Pie is everything but not plain
You literally can mix it up in 5 minutes and bake it in less than 20 minutes. Now, who doesn’t love that? We do have a category here that features the recipes under 5 minutes. However, this one is not quite that but it’s close. You do need to bake it, after all, but you literally can have it baked in 17 minutes!
Ground almonds are tasty, but what if you can’t use them?
It’s not only the oxalates, some people simply cannot have almonds. In that case, you can use any nuts that are low in sugar. For example, macadamia nuts would be ideal. Or you can just use ground sesame seeds! The pie would cost too much if you decide to add some pine nuts, but they would give you a boost in protein! In fact, you can play with the ground nuts or seeds, but the batter will get thick after you add coconut flour.

Natural strawberry extract
This is something that is so easy to find in the Balkan countries. However, if you don’t like ordering things online, (because these things are widely available in webshops) you can just blend some raspberries and use that mixture for the colourful swirly effect. It will work perfectly and it will make this pie even cleaner Keto Mediterranean. As you know, making everything from scratch is something we love to promote!
Let’s just get swirly creative here…
