Homemade face serum with Keto ingredients

Homemade face serum with wonderful ingredients from my Keto Mediterranean kitchen was born a couple of days ago. What a surprise! It turned out better than anything I ever used before. Naturally, I am talking about industrial and homemade products and I have tried all of them! The softness and smoothness of skin were quite noticeable the next morning.

Keto ingredients for inside-out use

Yes, the philosophy of Greek Goes Keto homemade cosmetic is that it has to be edible! Therefore, if it’s good for you from inside, it will be triple good for the skin! This is why all our creations are based on tallow!

The first creation was the body butter with sea buckthorn and Calendula and it’s possibly the best body butter you’ll ever use! Then we created soothing hand cream and homemade lipstick. But this homemade face serum I’m going to present you now is just “insanely great” that I can call it smile-bringer!

Homemade face serum ingredient #1 – Tallow

The cosmetic industry loves to use pure petroleum jelly which is a blend of mineral oils and waxes. Would you eat that? Of course not. Then why would we make our skin “eat it”? 😉 We will use something that has been successfully used by ancient queens of the orient for thousands of years. And as a Ketonian, you should always have it in your kitchen. Now, you can purchase it or render it from veal, beef or lamb fat.

In these photos, you can see that the process is very simple. It’s important to ask your butcher to give you grass-fed animal fat so that you get more omega-3 fatty acids. After all, you will be using this tallow inside-out! Strain it well and don’t use very high temperature!

Homemade face serum ingredient #2 – Rosehip oil

Oh, the mighty rosehip! You will not believe how beneficial is the oil of this Keto friendly fruit. Rosehip oil is extremely abundant in vitamin A and C. These two are required for the production of collagen in our body. Rosehip has also been shown in this study to inhibit the creation of MMP-1. This is an unfriendly enzyme that breaks down collagen.

One of my next recipe will be this magical homemade face foundation also made with Keto friendly ingredients and natural pigments! Everything can be made in your kitchen 😉

In a 2015 study, researchers discovered that taking rose-hip powder orally a noticeably increases the skin elasticity. Furthermore, Rosehip is a great source of polyphenols and anthocyanin, which are known to reduce inflammation. It also contains enough of skin-loving vitamin E! It’s just so inspiring, that we use it as a motif on many of our web-shop products!

Homemade face serum ingredient #3 – Saint John’s wort oil

People have been utilising St. John’s wort for thousands of years. This beautiful herb is often used to ease the symptoms of depression and gastrointestinal problems. The oil of this herb could be one of the best skin healing agents.

Saint John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) is widely recognised as a traditional treatment of wounds, abrasions, burns, sunburns and inflammatory skin conditions. Scientifically speaking, and this study covers it very well, Its use in wound healing is due to anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and astringent effects.

Homemade face serum ingredient #4 – Propolis drops

Remember our Keto honey substitute? Well, there we used mighty propolis drops and infused it with so many beneficial minerals. In this serum, propolis increases cellular immune response. Because of its powerful antibacterial nature, propolis can also be our weapon to fight acne or other skin inflammation!
